Nature
At CTV Lutheran School, children experience a rich outdoor environment, including expansive grassy areas, a playground, and a sandbox in which to romp and play. Seasonally, we explore meadows, orchards and a pond. We look closely at wildflowers, plants, trees, and birds. We germinate different seeds in the classroom and later tend the plants in our Children’s Garden. Close examination of cones, shells and leaves, trains us to see beauty in the detail and order of the created world. We make friends with bees, ants, spiders, worms, snails, ladybugs, and we witness the extraordinary metamorphosis of caterpillars into butterflies, culminating in an annual Butterfly Release Day.
